Time: To grow, to live, to be...

Hey guys,

I'm feeling quite reflective today. I'm getting ready to attend my first blogger event which is as scary as it is exciting. It's been ages since I socialised in a large group and don't get me wrong once I'm there I'll happy as Larry (who is Larry and why is he so happy? Lol) and it'll be great to meet all those bloggers I've admired for ages!

But it's still that initial feeling of apprehension. That nervous excitement that feels like a thousand butterflies are fluttering inside your tummy.

Which got me thinking about time. That elusive paradox which governs our lives. We live in such a fast past world of computers, phones and even interactive accessories. Apple Watch anyone?

Social media is forever changing that by the time I've figured out how to post, tweet, pin and Instagram with all those various hashtags (I can still remember asking what's a hashtag?) that a new platform is out, ready to suck in my soul for the chance at gaining followers, likes, loves, retweets, shares and any other form of acceptance that I crave to feel like I'm not so alone.

Which again brings me back to time. We spend half our life wishing time would go faster and the other half wishing it would slow down! Why?

I've spent 10 years waiting for something to happen. Once I'm slim I'll do this or once I'm at my goal dress size I'll do that and the sad fact is that 10 years has passed. A decade has flashed by and I'm still no closer to those provisos I gave myself at 18.

'Why wait until tomorrow, when you can do it today and if you like it today, you can do it again tomorrow'

That's why I decided to stop missing out on things. I'm attending two events this weekend, this is a big thing for me. I've even started YouTube which was scary yet with each step out of my comfort zone, I give self-doubt the middle finger!

So here's to conquering obstacles even if only in your mind! Thanks for reading.

Much Love,

Bubblybex3 is on YouTube!

Hey guys,

Sooo I did a thing. I've only gone and made a video which is on YouTube right now!! Haha. I know what you're thinking 'erm like we didn't know that from the post title' but hey ho!

It's going to be similar to the ole blog where I talk about beauty stuff or whatever random topic pops in my head and it'll give me that extra motivation to stay on track diet wise. So yay winner!

I just felt the need to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new hobbies. I'm tired of being a slave to my insecurities and what better way to give doubt the middle finger than putting my face 'on the line' (points if you know what film that's from?!) 😉

I'm going to be completely honest and admit that the techy side baffles me quite frankly! So if you do decide to watch, don't be expecting a perfectly edited masterpiece! Haha

With that being said I'm very excited about this new venture. I hope you'll support me and if you do subscribe, know that I'm sending big, squishy hugs your way *kissy face

Here's the link to my first ever YouTube video!!!! Add in appropriate sound effects and dance (too dramatic? Ha)

I hope you enjoy and I'll talk to you soon!

Much Love,

MAC Flamingo Park Palette

Hello loves,

I recently got the Mac Flamingo Park x9 eyeshadow palette so I thought why not share this beauty with you lot! 😄

                  mac flamingo park palette

This palette is a US exclusive but before you wonder how many kidneys I sold to get this in the UK, fear not people I used a service where you can pre-order US products and the lady (Claudia) sorts out everything for you with regards to customs etc and you get your goodies in the post! 😄

Anyway on to the palette!! This is a very pretty set of shadows and is perfect for spring with the flower power colours. However I was disappointed with the pigmentation of some of the shades.

swatches of the mac flamingo park palette

The paler pink and yellow needed a heavier swatch which is not totally surprising with pale shades as less colour pigment is used but the middle shadow in the palette (5th swatch, the pink) was really bad to swatch.

Although I'm happy to say they do wear better on the lid however the super pale pink can only be used as a transition shade to help with blending. 😊

Overall I think it's a cute palette. It's expensive for the size but if you're a MAC fan I think you'll love it!

created the above look using the palette. The only shade not from this set is on the inner lid but everything else is MAC. The blue on the bottom lash line looked amazing!

What do you think of this palette?

The idiosyncrasies of a fat chick

Hey guys,

So I went to the Trafford Centre yesterday and I actually wore nice clothes which is a rare occurrence for me, however I felt so bloody uncomfortable!

Yet later that night I went to work and was wearing my scruffy sweat pants and a hoodie. Admittedly they are Nike but I'm not sure the brand will be using me as a model in future advertising campaigns as I took scruffy to a whole new level. Lol

I just don't understand why? Fat is fat in any outfit. I can hardly hide ten extra stones of lard so why did I feel so 'on show' dressed in my smart clothes yet comfortable in my scruffs?

I was talking to my mum about it and I think she hit the nail on the head!

'Maybe I dont feel 'worthy' enough to dress up and make the effort'

Now this statement resonated with me. I'm not speaking for big people everywhere. I'm just saying that I do prefer to hide away than embrace what I am right now and it's kinda sad.

I'm nearing 30 and I'm embarrassed to look good and presentable as what if I'm ridiculed? What if someone laughs at me? The horror!

Well I say a big 'F-YOU' to that thought! What has that thinking ever done for me? Other than keep me locked in this battle of low self worth and fad diets!

So you know what I did? I went online shopping baby! I've bought some nice tops and pants that may not be all that colour wise as I went all black. Baby steps people, baby steps. But I think it's a step in the right direction 😄

This isn't going to suddenly stop the negative Nancy in my head telling me 'I'm too fat, so why bother?' but it's a start on this path to body acceptance.

My weightloss so far has been hit n miss which is frustrating but I'm finally in a mental place to truly focus and start shedding the weight and more importantly improve my health!

Thanks for reading my ramblings. Hope you're well guys!

NEW BRAND: Live Love London

Hello lovelies,

I'm so excited to share with you a new makeup brand I've been loving lately!

Live Love London!!!

live love london brand logo

This brand is exclusive to British Home Stores (BHS) and launched in December 2015. They sell everything from skincare to makeup.
I've actually had my bits for a few months as I wanted to really test them.

blush and highlight palette and a lipstick

Only bought a few items to try which I'm loving, so will definitely be trying more. I loved the look of the blush palette and a lipstick is self explanatory 😉

inside the blush pallete and the open lipstick

This blush palette is amazing! It has a fabulous embossed detail which gives it some pizazz and the size of the pans are big.

Included in the set are four blushes in various shades of pink from a pink toned nude to a full on berry. They do blend well, some shades need a bit more work than others yet the shades are pigmented and feel velvet smooth.

You also get two baked highlight shades, a muted pinky gold and a bright pink which I feel is better on top of or instead of blush as it's quite pink.

swatches of the blush and highlight palette

My swatches were one soft swipe and you can see they have pretty decent colour payoff. Winner!
The paler highlight was the only one I had to do a heavy swatch with to be seen but please don't let that sway your decision to buy this beauty as its lovely on the face.

The lipstick is good for an inexpensive lippie. I chose this gorgeous purple shade with a satin finish and it looks lovely on the lips.

I'd compare this brand to Makeup Revolution which is funny as the company who manufactures this range also creates MUR sooo whilst I don't think they are sister companies it's very similar.

Packaging is the basic glossy black plastic which is pretty standard but I love the brand logo as it has a cool holographic finish 😄

So I know I didn't buy a lot yet what I did buy is lovely. The price point isn't the cheapest, however I'd still give this new brand a thumbs up!

What do you think of my goodies? Have you tried anything from Live Love London? I'm now eyeing the eyeshadow palettes and contour kit!

Much Love,
