Let's Take A Moment

Hi guys,

So you may have noticed that I've not posted much last week (or not) haha.

Anyway last week was crazy and to be honest I had a flamingo moment (hiding my head) lol

First off I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things with my diet and exercise. Not going to lie the overindulgence lately, especially on my birthday, caused me to gain weight and get major sugar withdrawal.

I've actually tweaked my plan and right now I'm doing a high protein diet. Still getting carbs like sweet potatoes but focusing mostly on meat and loads of veggies. Simple foods that leave me feeling full and it's not quantum physics working out my ratios.

Secondly I had to replace my phone (iPhone) and like a good girl I backed everything to iTunes only I used my new laptop. Then when I went to restore my new phone, said new laptop wiped all my details and saved the original settings on the phone instead!!

I lost all my photos, contacts, videos. Everything! So I though to myself just use the old laptop (it's super slow) but at least my details were on there. Unfortunately something went wrong in internet land and my phone just died!

I had to go back to Apple to get them to correct it as neither laptop would reset this mess of technical drama. Luckily Apple did get it back up and I managed to restore my phone on the old laptop.

But this wasn't up to date and I lost about 6 posts worth of photos!! Beauty boxes that I've since used or stored elsewhere, birthday gifts I've opened fully and make up that now has no packaging and is used!! Not to mention I spent ages setting up my stuff for photos and getting the best lighting! :(

Then to really top off an awesome week, I'm suffering majority with my hormones! Like curl up in a ball and cry for weeks. So this is why I'm currently post less. I have ideas but I was too busy wallowing in self pity. Lol

You'll be pleased to know, that my sulky self has disappeared (until next month lol) and I'm going to get back into the groove.

Moan over and I hope to share my new goodies with you all soon :)

Much Love,

Bex x

June's Glossybox of blah!

Hey people,

How's it going? Ok so as you may have guessed from my very obvious and slightly? sarcastic title, I'm talking about June's Glossybox.

It wasn't a bad box, I'm being overly harsh I think. It's just lately it's all so festival, summer beauty shiz. I just want make up people!!

See what I mean? More bloody temporary tattoo shite! Ok calm down Bex, calm down ;)

So let's break down my box!

Big bottle of Kueshi anti cellulite booster to I presume massage away cellulite. Haha

Monu Spa reviving mist, not a bad item to try as I have something similar from The Body Shop (Vitamin C face mist) which I love. See how this one goes.

Halo facial wipes! I kid you not! Facial wipes! The best bit? Travel size! They couldn't even swing for a full pack. Thanks Glossybox *thumbs up*

I believe I mentioned the tattoos. I have nothing further to add about them. Other than erm why??

Finally a gel polish from Essence. Nice pink shade but not really make up is it? Which is a shame as I'd love to try more from this brand. Make up that is. Lol

Anyway that's this months box. Sorry I'm being such a bitch but seriously how boring?? Cellulite cream and wet wipes! Plus how useless are the tattoos? Takes a certain person to pass them off as cool and sexy. I'd just look childish and random whilst making 5 year olds everywhere jealous. Haha!

Not sure if I should carry on with Glossybox till I earn my free box or give up now? I mean it's only £13.25 a month with postage but that could be a lip liner from Mac! Decisions, decisions!

Thanks for reading my erm post? rant? moan? *hides face* it's safe to say June was a shoddy month for subscription beauty boxes!

Much Love,

Bex x

Welcome to Bubblybex3!!

Hey guys,

I'm excited to share my new blog design!!!!! Yey! :)

I feel like such a grown up! Finally considering I'm now 28 ;) haha.

I've also got my own domain. I've had this a month or so but thought as I'm introducing my new blog face, I may as well share my new (smaller) url hehe.

It's still under blogger, I've just dropped the blogspot. I'm not technically minded so changing that was an achievement for me! Plus I blog as a way to focus on my journey to healthy and share my opinions about stuff with you guys :) so I don't need major website techy things.

I'd also like to say thank you to everyone who leaves a comment. I really do appreciate you taking the time to do that and it's means so much to know people are reading my posts. I will be responding to comments asap. I've been having trouble accessing them on my phone (I've actually saved up, so I'm buying a laptop!) and once I'm able to reply, I will do :)

If you fancy having your own design (which is affordable) then check out Sarah! I believe her website is getting its own make over but her Twitter handle is @sarahsmilesxxx

I'm very impressed. Sarah was super helpful and so easy to talk to about ideas, colours etc and made sure I was happy with each step before the design was installed.

Hope you love my new design as much as I do. I wanted fun, girly and cute and I think I got that :)

Much Love,

Bye Bye Birchbox

Hey guys,

So it's a sad day in the world of bubblybex. I bid farewell to my Birchbox subscription *cue violins playing whilst it pours down with rain* haha

Anyway dramatics aside, June's box was so bloody boring! Don't get me wrong I loved the box design I chose but I figured a beauty box should be about the samples, not if the container looks pretty.

Out of the three designs, I went with the French theme. Think navy and white stripes with the pop of red. Beautiful.

I like how you got a matching bag which is perfect for flat shoes or whatever you want to store in it ;)

So what did I get you ask?

Beauty Protector Spray

Add to damp hair to detangle, protect, minimise frizz and add shine. The usual shiz that hair sprays offer. Not saying it's a bad product, it's just something I've had from Birchbox before, which is kind of annoying to receive again.

Cowshed body lotion

Nice packaging and smells lovely, good size sample. I have my favourite lotions and potions so I gave this to a friend.

Pixi by Petra lip balm

Nice tinted lip balm. I got ripe raspberry which adds a lovely pink to the lips. Feels nice on, not sure I'd pay £8 for it though. Especially as Carmex or Burts Bees do fab lip balms for way cheaper.

Penhaligon's Iris Prima perfume

This is a nice perfume, it's a deeper, stronger scent. Not my cup of tea as I'm more light floral/fruity think Marc Jacobs Daisy or Versace Bright Crystal but my mum loves it.

STYLondon temporary tattoos

Now I know it's festival season and these are the newest trend to add sparkle or whatever to an outfit but I've got to be honest and say 'are we 12 again?'
It just seems childish to me and I'd rather paint a butterfly on my face if I'm going to embrace my inner child.

Ren Beauty Shot

Quite a pricy product if buying full size at £36.
I'm guessing it's a serum type product so will be interesting to test this out :)

So that concludes this months Birchbox and my final box. Who know? I may restart again in the future if I see better products.

I can't say the samples are totally awful as you do get a few nice things to try but I've noticed it's a lot of the same beauty stuff and I've realised I want a make up box rather than beauty. Only so many hair serums or body lotions a girl can use. Lol.

What do you think? Would you stick with it or cancel?

Much Love,

The Heart of Latest In Beauty

Hey guys,

Been a while since I bought a box from Latest In Beauty (LIB). The thing I love about this brand is that you know exactly what your getting when you choose a box. This making it easier to see if you want one or not.

Today I'm sharing with you lovely lot, the heart FM latest in beauty box :)

Ahh look at what you get! From hair and face stuff, to hands including a nail polish from nail inc. Spot on LIB ;)

Lovely moisturiser by amie which feels amazing! It does smell nice but I'm not usually a fan of strong smelling face creams. I do like this, so will see how I fair.

Hand cream by Le Couvent des Minimes packaging is snazzy but I suffer from hand eczema so fragranced hand creams are a no no. Passed on to my sister in law who likes it :)

Balance Me Mask, this brand is a beauty box staple lately. Made in the UK which is a winner and I've tried a few pieces which I've liked. I like trying face masks sooo happy days! :D

Cute heart face cloth. What more to I need to say (other than it does expand in water! Haha) ;)

Dove youthful shampoo and conditioner. Another beauty box favourite it seems. Maybe now I'm 28 I should use this? Haha. My mum likes it anyway so not wasted.

Sun Lotion by Green People with added tan accelerator. Not much of a tanner fake or otherwise but I do like my SPF's and sun protectors as I'm pasty white! Haha. Bit of sun and it's lobster central!

Kneipp Devil's Claw Herbal Bath. Slightly scary ingredient name aside, add this to a bath to ease inflammation and smooth tired muscles.

Few samples of the BareMinerals complextion rescue which is a hydrating gel cream with the added bonus of being tinted and has some fab extras to make your skin glow! Yey!

Vichy Idéalia Life Serum love this stuff, shame it's pricy for the full size but after trying a few brands this is still my favourite. Brightens and tightens which is just what we need :D

Skyn Iceland eye gels not tried these yet but very intriguing!

Philosophy cleanser which is said to cleanse, tone and hydrate. Heard good things about this brand so we shall see!

Wild about a beauty eye shadow. Love this brand, love the pigmentation of the shadows, just gutted LIB sent the same shade as they had in a previous box at Christmas! Oh well :/

Nail inc gel effect polish is a really nice grey shade. Very crisp, clean colour that looks beautiful on the nails. Like this a lot *thumbs up*

Finally I had a code to get a free hairspray by Guy Kremer which is the purple bottle above. Nice size and it was free so that always good! Lol.

Hope you liked my goodies. Whilst I may not use everything, I still think it was a great box. New stuff to try and brands to find.

Want your own box? Only £15 guys! You can check it out here :)

Much Love,

Weight loss update!

Hey guys,

I can't believe I didn't post my monthly digits!! I'm a terrible blogger! haha.

Sooo life has been busy! Work, family and no consistency with the diet on my part. Anyway I got weighted on Monday 1st June and I lost nothing.

Let's take a moment to commiserate *cry me a river* haha

You're probably wondering why I'm not whining whilst I sob into a packet of chocolate hob nobs. The truth is I'm actually pleased to stay the same. I can count on one hand the healthy meals I've had during the month of May.

Sad to say but I'm being honest and admitting my faults. I'm not making excuses. I was greedy and I ate. Simple as, no hidden emotional trigger or suppressed memory.

I hate how nowadays you need a reason as to why you're fat. The simple fact is, I like food, unfortunately I like it too much and don't have a cut off switch.

Now I'm not saying I don't use food to hide away emotionally now but I didn't start out that way. It's only as I've got fatter that I personally felt the need to hide away.

One day I'll be able to answer this first! Right now, erm not so much.

Anyway moving on. It's my birthday on Sunday 7th June and I'll be 28! Once the celebrations are over with, I'm back on this journey with a vengeance!

I'm planning meals, I'm scheduling my exercise and I'm basically going to stop dicking around. I want to look better this Christmas!

Let's do this!!!

Much Love,

Angel Eyes

Hey lovelies,

It's time to share another beauty from the wonder brand Makeup Revolution :D

Ladies and gents, I give you the Eyes Like Angels palette!

Housed in beautiful metallic silver packaging with the shadows set in the signature glossy black case.

Inside this bundle of goodness are 32 eyeshadow shades so beautiful I swear angels sing when you open it, which makes the name appropriate! Lol.

Included are a mix and match of lights, brights, cools and darks with different finishes to suit even the fussiest girl (or guy)

Once again Makeup Revolution has produced a set of lovely, blendable shadows in a set of colours that will tease your creative boundaries!

Now some shades do need a heavier hand but that doesn't bother me plus I've had high end shadows do the same. I think it's to do with the colour, rather than the quality of a shadow.

I love the diverse range of shades as you can make sooo many cool, edgy, fun looks with this palette (hmm should I add more adjectives? Haha)

I bought this just before the mermaid palette was released which has received a lot of love by bloggers. The mermaid palette is a gorgeous set, I won't deny that but I felt like I needed to share this creation of holy beauty with you guys ;)

Enjoy this up close of my new pretties I have to play with :)

This set was only £8 Have fun browsing, I'm off to experiment with colours! :D I'm thinking more rainbow eyes than angel ;) haha

Much Love,

Shopping At Kiko Cosmetics

Hey guys,

A few weeks ago I got an email (general, not blogger related) from Kiko Cosmetics saying that if you sign up for Kiko Rewards (a points system) you get 30% off for a limited time. Well I couldn't say no to that! Haha

I really like the smart lipsticks, so needed some more of those bad boys plus some new lip liner colours and i wanted to try a gloss, although I don't remember choosing orange but luckily it's sheer! ;)

I got three lip liners. A pale purple/lilac, a pink that looks pearlescent and a lovely coral which will go perfectly with my Givenchy coral lipstick :D

How beautiful are those!!! I'm in love with the strawberry pink shade, it's like a cute red. Random description I know but cute is what I think when I see it. Lol. The other shade is a beautiful pink toned purple that I'm digging right now (did I just type digging?) hehe

I also picked up some eye shiz. A few shadow sticks which have a lovely creamy texture, one in a charcoal black and a double ended one with a brown and teal/turquoise which is gorgeous!!! Look at the swatch! :D plus a powdered shadow in a lovely sage? forest? green shade! I wanted to try these before I bought loads. So far so good *thumbs up*

Finally I decided to try the BB cream, however even though I chose light which is the second shade out of four, it was way too dark and quite orange (I tried to show a swatch under the shadows above but I'm rubbish) so unfortunately I had to give this to a friend. It did seem like a nice formula on testing it on my hand.

So this was my little shopping spree. I love the packaging of Kiko, the eyeshadow has a cool push button clasp, the lipsticks give a satisfying click and the lipgloss actually reminds me of urban decay. That sleek packaging with the gunmetal lid :D

What do think? Have you tried this brand? I know they have stores dotted around the UK (still waiting for Manchester though!) but I used the website sooo enjoy! :)

Much Love,

Bex x
