You Beauty Limited Edition Box

Hey guys,

Soo I only joined You Beauty to grab an illamasqua lippie for the bargain price of £6.95 back in March, you can see what I got here http://goo.gl/iGVebH

When I saw that this month (May) you could get a sample of the mega popular too faced mascara that has the rather risqué name, I was on it!
Unfortunately, most had the same idea and it was sold out *cry* haha.

However, up popped the limited edition box. Packed with loads of beauty goodies including: you guessed it! The better than sex mascara! Can I get a whoop whoop ;)

Full to the brim with moisturisers, cleansers, a self tanner and even a sample aftershave (not sure why they included a male scent?), the much anticipated mascara plus a sample of the Benefit they're real eye liner. Happy days!

I can't wait to try everything. They even included an Elemis moisturiser and a Dr Organic serum type gel which has the grossest name 'snail gel' but ickiness aside it smells like lemon sherbet! :D

Throw in some fancy cleansers to try and I'm in heaven! The Bee Good one looks great and I like that it's a British brand.

Tagging along at end was a tanner (I gave to a friend as I embrace the pale haha) with a mitt plus the ever present Philip Kingsley hair product (doesn't matter what beauty box you get, his products will always be included!!)

Soo that's my box. I'm going to try these out and if I like something, I will do a separate post to share my thoughts :)

What do you think? Want to try this box? You can buy it here http://box.you.co.uk/ for £19.95 with free delivery if you're a member :D

Ergh Exercise and Birthday Cake

Hey guys,

So almost time for my May weigh in. I'm not looking forwards to it! I've been slacking off big time :(

I think starting this journey I expected a miracle. Not fully appreciating that this takes time, it takes commitment and a lot of blood, sweat and tears!

Yes, life will through you a curve ball or in my case numerous birthday cakes (I'm weak!) but it's not about being perfect 100% as that is unattainable and you will crack!

It's about making the best choices you can. Will you celebrate special occasions? Yes. Will you be tempted with sugary goodies? Yes. But you don't have to be a slave to your cravings.

I want to get to the point where I can have a bloody good boogie at a family party without scoping out the buffet first.

It's my birthday on the 7th June. I turn 28! *cue dark and deep music whilst I cry into my soup* and obviously I'm going to enjoy myself. Let's be real people, it's my day to splurge with food and beauty stuff! Haha.

But on the Monday after my birthday?? This girl is getting her act together! Sorting out portion sizes (they've been increasing! Oops!), drinking more water (I'm not getting enough at all) and I'm going to focus on my exercise and fitness *shudders* which after walking my dogs today, has really, really declined!!
I'm ready to get mentally back in the game and sort out the physical one walk, one salad and one bottle of water at a time!

Anyway, thanks for reading! Raising my cup of green tea! 'Let's do this!'

Much Love,

May Glossybox

Hey guys,

It's Glossybox time again. I know, I know, it's practically time for June's box I've left this post so late! Lol

Now I do have to be honest, the reason I've left it so long is because this box just didn't wow me. The items were ok, I did like the lipstick (I think I have an obsession with collecting them!) and the shadow stick best.

I was going to do a post on just those two but thought, no just because the other items don't appeal to me, doesn't mean others won't enjoy them.

So moving on from my little waffle above, I give you the Glossybox of May! *cue flying doves and flower petals* haha.

SASS Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate

This is meant to soothe skin after shaving and reduce the amount of regrowth you get. Full of ingredients from fruits and other scientific mumbo jumbo that also make sure you don't get ingrowing hairs.
Whilst this is a handy product to try, I just thought it was boring for a beauty box. Nice packaging though.

Etre Belle Ultra Moisturising Gel

This is an Aloe Vera moisturiser which most of us know is fabulous for those warmer months. Not only does this product hydrate your skin but it will sooth and cool as well. Always a good thing especially if, like me you turn into a lobster, with the slightest hint of vitamin D hitting your skin ;) lol
Nice product, kind of pricy at nearly £16 for the small tube.

Zerreau Towel Off Shampoo Foam

The dry shampoo with a posh twist. Same principle, just in a foam. Massage into your scalp then quickly remove with a towel leaving you with fresh, clean looking hair.
Smells nice and does the trick. Worth £8 when Batiste is £2? Not sure I'm sold.

Collection Cosmetics Lipstick

Part of the Spring Field Day range, this is a lovely pastel salmon pink. Matte finish and it goes on well.
Great spring shade to add that bit of colour to the lips. Very cute. Plus it's really affordable at less that £3.

MeMeMe Dual Ended Eye Wand

This Enchated eye pencil is lovely. Beautiful, creamy formula in two gorgeous shades.
A shimmery navy blue and an almost metatalic teal. Love these colours and with this pencil you can create edgy eyeliner looks or use these as a base to intensify your powder shadows. Happy days!
Plus that's two colours in one pencil so less space is used in your make up bag/box/drawer ;) haha

As always if you fancy subscribing to Glossybox then check them out here http://goo.gl/jwqE9C

It's £10 plus p&p and you can cancel whenever, it is nice to get a delivery every month and you get to try some cool products or brands you normally wouldn't.

So that's my Glossybox. What did you think? Am I just being picky or did I get some goodies?

Much Love,

Love Label Lipstick Trio

Hey guys,

A few months back I bought some beauty shiz from Littlewoods with the rewards money I'd accumulated. I wrote about the Myleen Klass bronzer I got here http://goo.gl/VHDIjg

Today I'm sharing this trio of lippies by Love Label. I must admit I only thought this brand did clothes and shoes *hides face*

I thought the packaging was cool for some affordable lipsticks. The silver tube with the black Love Label love heart symbol on the top of the lid was quite edgy.

The set was a play on reds. I got a true red, a pink and a orange toned red. I actually gave the orange red to Beth from www.mermaidindisguise.co.uk as that shade doesn't suit me *woe is me* but that girl can rock any red lip! Beth told me she likes the colour and formula so happy days! :)

The lipsticks are a creamy matte texture and you can build on the colour coverage. I found I needed a few coats to make it more vibrant.

Overall a nice little set of lipsticks which only cost £8 :)

Now like I said above, I've had these for a few months and on trying to find the link so you can have a little look at them, it appears they are not for sale anymore on Littlewoods *oops*

But I still wanted to share them, as the silver tubes are cool and futuristic which come on people! It needed to be appreciated on here! Lol. :D

Anyway thanks for reading!

Prairie Charms Mystery Bag

Hey guys,

For those of you familiar with my blog, you'll know I'm a fan of the surprise beauty boxes (ok slightly addicted haha)

The other day on Twitter, a tweet popped up from Prairie Charms advertising their mystery bag. Being the inquisitive girl I am, I asked about the details. My favourite colours plus a PayPal invoice later and I was eagerly awaiting the postman! :D

On seeing the beautiful, sparkly envelope I'll admit I squealed like a child. Who doesn't like pretty, shiny things? Also can I just say, I am seriously impressed with this bag! I mean look how lovely everything was wrapped and presented!

Sooo my goodies included a cute pink flower clip, which my 2 year old niece has claimed!! Plus a blue glitter bow clip which goes perfectly with the blue gem necklace! :D

Then if that wasn't enough, Prairie Charms added a fab floral bobble, some quirky tape and a pack of purple straws! Lol.

I love the mix match items provided. Prairie Charms took note of my colour preferences (purples, pinks, blues) and provided cute and quirky products.

The best bit guys? All this only cost £5 plus P&P! I mean can we say 'bargain' whoop whoop! ;D

Want to try this brand? Go visit Prairie Charms here www.prairiecharms.co.uk and check out the fabulous variety they offer!

Oh and give these guys a follow on Twitter @PrairieCharms. They are the nicest people to chat with and have the best customer service! :)

Tarte Tartelette Palette

Hey lovelies,

Today I wanted to talk about the tartelette palette by Tarte Cosmetics. Those of you who follow beauty blogs or watch beauty you tubers will be familiar with this little bundle of loveliness.

First off can we just appreciate the gorgeous purple packaging! Whilst I prefer silver to gold, the purple won me over (I'm slightly obsessed with purple lol) I mean Cadbury's anyone? ;p

The tartelette palette is an all matte set with 12 brand new shades, all infused with Tarte's signature Amazonian clay sorcery :D
From neutral browns to deep purple this set is my ideal eyeshadow kit!

Lovely big mirror included which is always a bonus, especially if you take it with you on your travels :D

I'm must say I'm loving the quality of this set. The shadows are lovely to use and blend well. Not quite a buttery texture but not powdery either, although I do get fallout if im heavy handed but that's because I'm a beast ;) haha.

I also like how tarte set the palette up. Each of the four rows represent a highlight, transition, lid and defining/liner shade. Whilst the 3 rows across give you the option of a warm brown smokey eye, a deep purple smokey eye (love) and finally a cool smokey eye.

However this is your face and your palette so mix and match those bad boys to make whatever eye look you want! Make up is fun, experiment and enjoy it. Sometimes it looks good and sometimes you look like a 6 year old playing with mummy's make up (erm not that I ever looked like that obviously haha) ;)

Longevity wise these shadows last great. With primer I went all day (8 hours I think) Being matte you don't need to worry as much, especially as I have oily/hooded lids so I didn't get shimmer stuck on my upper eye thingy (the bit that sags down) I'm sure there's a scientific term but eye thingy works for me! Haha ;D

I've had the tartelette palette for a few months and it's lovely. Perfect colours for me and being matte I can use this with my other shimmer shadows as transition shades alone if I don't want a totally matte eye. Come on! Every girl needs a bit of shimmer every now and then ;)

Now this was a pricey palette. I paid £44.99 on Amazon UK with free shipping. Is it worth it? Yes I think so. Can you get cheaper matte shadows? Yes again but with this palette you're buying quality shadows that last, the choice is up to you if you want to invest in this gorgeous set.

Want to check this beauty out? Click here http://goo.gl/1VFya8 :)

This is where I bought mine, as the place I usually buy Tarte in the UK is on QVC, yet they didn't have it available! :(

Anyone tried the tartelette palette? What do you think? :)

Much Love,

Bex x

Free Your Mind with Birchbox

Hi peeps,

It's that time of the month again. Birchbox time that is, not the dreaded Aunt Flo. TMI? Haha

The theme this month is Free Your Mind (the title gave it away haha) and Birchbox went all out. Even having a lid that you personally colour in and some colouring pencils to get started :D

Cute, different yet very effective. We live in a fast paced world. This is a great way to let go, de-stress and yes, free your mind.

Nice set of products to try this month from make up remover to a tinted moisturiser and lip cream.

WAH London Nail Art Pen

We got to choose the nail product this month. Press on, bottle or pen. Clearly I chose the pen. I'm ready to embrace my inner Van Gough! Ok it's only nails but still I'm going to be artistic if it kills me! Haha.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturiser

This is a great sample! Full size this product retails at £27 and Birchbox provided a decent 15ml sample size. Winner!
Not tried on my face yet but swatched on the back of my hand and this seems very BB cream-esque.
I got this in light and its pink toned, we shall see how I get on. Love that this will moisturise, brighten and give me a bit of coverage plus it's perfect for summer.

Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rough

This is a pricy little lippie at £21! I got the shade Paris which a lovely pinky mauve. This formula is said to give you that fabulous matte finish yet doesn't dry out your lips!
This makes me happy as my lips get really dry and I hate having that dried wrinkled lip look! :o

RMK Make Up Remover

You can never have too many removers. This is one of those oil type removers, where you need to give them a good shake to mix the layers together.
At £20 for the full size, I hope this lives up to the price ;)

Parlor by Jeff Chastain

This is a sea salt spray that's infused with almond oil and packed with algae which provides your hair with lots of vitamin goodness.
Not tried this yet as I'm currently testing a hair serum but this is £17 for full size, so it seems like a good brand to try.

Number 4 Lumiere d'Hiver Reconstructing Masque!

Fancy title aside, this lil pack of awesome contains Shea butter, oils from sunflower and jojoba seeds as well as soy proteins which will give your locks shine and strength plus smooth away flyaway hairs.
Another expensive product which retails for £36! By the time I've finished, I want hair like Cheryl Cole! Before she had it chopped and got remarried that is ;) haha

Overall a nice set of products to try. Especially with them being more on the pricy side, it's a great way to try these brands.

Want your own box of goodies? Only £10 per month plus p&p. Check them out here birchbox.co.uk :D

Hope you have a fun filled weekend guys!

Much Love,

Will I be happy?

Hey guys,

This journey I'm on is a tough old bird. The uninformed may say 'eat less, move more' but until you've ate your way to this size, dealt with the feelings of self disgust and embarrassment then tried to change, you will never know what a roller coaster it is.

Everyday I struggle with feelings of inadequacy. I want a McDonald's, I want a bar of Cadburys, I'd even eat a kebab and I hate even the thought of that meat!

I'm uncomfortable in my own skin. I hate the lumps, bumps and bulges. I hate feeling like everyone is staring, judging and stamping me lazy.

I don't blame anyone other than me for my current situation. I ate the food, I ignored the few extra pounds, I ate more and more until this became my reality.

It's my birthday on the 7th June. I'll turn 28. On looking back, as we do the older we get. All I can remember is planning my what if's and when I?

I've spent over 10 years both loving and hating this body I created. Loving the excuse it gave me to hide away and not try anything yet hating the fact I did that.

Being afraid of the unknown made it easier to use my fat as a shield. But what am I so afraid of? The sad part is, I don't know.

As hard as it is, I need to trust this process, trust that giving my body what it needs, not what it wants is the answer and thinking positive!

I read this today and it just touched me.

I want to feel better about myself and I want to be happy. Hopefully this journey will be the key to unlocking that.

Anyway mini rant over. Hope you're all ok! :)

Much Love,

Bex x

Urban Decay Foundation Powder

Hi guys,

Today I wanted to share my new love! The name of this product is so long winded hence being lazy with the post title! Sorry *cheeky smile*

Ladies (and gents) I give you:

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation!

Long arse name aside, I've been wanting to talk about this product for ages! The main reason I've been putting this off? I'm worried I won't do this product justice! I don't have the fancy words to truely explain how fabulous this powder is.

Let's be honest, I'm not a make up artist, think of me as an enthusiastic novice who's always eager to try new things and experiment. Sometimes it works, sometimes it's an epic fail! FYI bright pink sparkly eyeshadow with blue mascara was such a cool look! ;)

My go to powder has always been Rimmels stay matte. Cheep, cheerful and does the trick. I use translucent so I don't even have to worry about a colour match. Oh the simple life and then I use Sheercover in Buff as my mineral powder foundation of choice.

However my face game has changed and it's all thanks to Urban Decay! When I swatched this at the counter, I couldn't get over the texture. It feels like soft velvet and smooths over your skin so beautifully, I thought Angels would appear to serenade me!

I had to have it! My shade is light neutral which is perfect for me. I'm a 2.0 in Urban Decay liquid foundation for reference.

I use this as a setting powder which gives my face that extra umpff. You can use this dry for a softer finish or wet for a more intense, flawless vibe. One point I will mention, it has a erm interesting smell but never fear my friends, that disburses once you've finished setting your face.

I use this over my liquid foundation. From Rimmel BB cream to Urban Decay liquid foundation BUT dab this on top of Estée Lauder double wear foundation and you have the perfect face!

I'm not even kidding right now. The effect was amazing. My skin looked flawless, blemishes perfectly covered, dark circles a distant memory and my large pores were hidden behind this veil of make up sorcery! *holds up hands to the beauty Gods*

On lasting power? I have combination skin with dry/flakey patches. My nose is the worst! Literally most products slide off due to excess oil. Now depending on primer used or what liquid foundation I wear, then this powder can last ages.

Towards the end of a long/busy day I do get shiny in the T-zone area but not 'omg look at my face' type drama. Haha. I must admit this seems to play better with more high end foundations but that could be because they leave a decent finish anyway.

Overall I love this product. I will admit that it's pricey. At £26 this isn't your drug store favourite but if you want to splurge on a powder foundation that will give your skin that airbrushed look whilst being super lightweight, then this is the gem for you!

Plus how sleek is the packaging? The cute purple pouch holds the edgy burnt steel case with the UD imprint and a push button clasp. On point Urban Decay *fist bump*

You can buy this from most department stores like Debenhams and Selfridges or the Urban Decay website http://www.urbandecay.co.uk/face/foundation/ultra-definition-powder-foundation

Have you tried this powder? What did you think?

Much Love,

Bex x

Blah Blah Blah

Hey guys,

Well today I was meant to publish my super awesome, witty, rush out now and buy this product, make up review.

Unfortunately my sausage fingers pressed delete instead! I mean seriously?? If I didn't need them so much or get squeamish about blood, I'd rip the buggers off!

So I thought, why not write a post explaining the utter devastation I felt at that moment of post annihilation! With suitable words to inspire tears of anguish!

Nah I'm kidding. Who cares?! Haha. I had a tantrum and sulked for a while, then pulled my head out my arse and started again. *sigh*

I just needed an excuse to add that picture of Pascal. Admit it, you started singing songs from Tangled!! ;D

Anyway thanks for reading my random blah post. My deleted and soon to be rewrote review, will be up next week. After all this drama you better love it people! Hahaha.

Have a fabulous weekend guys,

Much Love,

Bex x

Primark Goodies and Shrinking!

Hi guys,

I wanted to start off on a positive this week. I've had a few tough weeks here and there plus not fully focused on the weight loss resulting in only a 1lb lost for April (http://goo.gl/8HJUrZ) what can I say? Life's celebrations tempted me *hides face*

Anyway to cheer me up, I went to town with my mum. Nice cheeky coffee at Marks & Spencer's (FYI best coffee ever!!) and a browse round the shops.

Hit up primark to grab some stuff for my nieces (1&2 so clothing changes are needed when they come to grandma's) and I found some quirky tops that I simply had to buy!

I am a massive Disney geek. I have a shelf with all my Disney movies and I randomly break out into song. Seriously when I worked at Blockbuster a collegue said I'm like my own Disney movie. Sing then carry on with work ;) haha

So clearly I needed these two tops! I am a princess and if anyone wants to talk Disney to me I'm all ears! :D

Then the pants. Olaf! Enough said. These are to chill out in at home so I don't need my PJ's pants on and I think they're awesome! I mean, it's Olaf!

Finally hands up to all despicable me and minion fans! *waves them around like a crazy person*

I loovvveeee this film and can't wait to watch minions! Soo when I saw this top, I needed it! I even had this as my Twitter profile picture at one point, so you know it's serious ;)

The best part about this mini shopping spree? I realised I've dropped sizes! In January I was wearing 24/26 top size and 22/24 pants. *cringing just writing that*

Now these beauts are all size 20!! Bit snug but I got them on fine! I'm sooo happy to see this! I mean sure it's not my end goal but to know I've dropped nearly 3 sizes makes me feel good!

More determination now to kick May's butt! Oh and these tops were only £6 each so not breaking the bank and the pants were £10. Great to chill out in at home :)

Much Love,

Bex x

Ps: probably should have ironed the tops before taking a pic but I'm lazy, so just deal with it peeps! Hahaha!

Weigh in Woes

Hey guys,

So not to be a Debbie downer but feeling abit blah. I got weighed yesterday and I've only lost 1lb :(

April has been a funny month. Whilst I survived Easter chocolate, I gave in to birthday cake pressure. Yes I know that's my own fault *sigh*

I had 6 birthdays this month! I'm totally skint by the way and not because I went crazy in Boots either unfortunately! Haha.

Anyway come weigh day I was mortified to see only 1lb loss after 4 weeks! I mean I'd had a few nibbles but that bad?

Then I took stock of what I'd done over April. Less exercise, less water and portion sizes slowly (or not so slowly) increasing, not to mention the deliciousness that is birthday cake. It all adds up and thus maybe 1lb lost is actually pretty good.

My friend Em said that at least it's not a gain and you know what? She was right!! Thank you Em!! Check out her blog here: justems1.blogspot.co.uk :)

In the end this journey isn't about an end game. It's not about completing a level and defeating the boss at the end.

This is a continual lifestyle, yes I will get to a weight I'm comfortable with, yes I will finally get the courage to join a gym (sweating in front of fit peeps scares me!) and yes I will continue to be a healthier me but it doesn't stop. This will continue throughout my life. This is my lifestyle now.

Will I have more bumps on the road? Yes
Will I want to scream and shout like a toddler wanting biscuits? Probably ;)
The odd blip is human but the point is to never stop trying! Again you never fail, unless you stop trying!

Now I'm off to get myself focused and ready to kick May's arse! It's my birthday on the 7th June and I'm going to be celebrating a good loss! With a chicken salad of course ;D haha!

Have a great weekend guys!

Much Love,

Bex x
