Losing pounds and gaining strength!

Hey everyone,

As some of you may know, I'm trying to shed some weight. Ok ok more than some, I need to lose a lot.

It's coming off slowly but surely. I'm making changes each week to aid my journey and also create new habits and banish old ones (much as I'd like to, I can't sit and eat family size bars of chocolate all day) *sigh*

As well as making positive lifestyle changes, I'm also clearing debt.

I've got catalogues and credit cards dating back to when I was 18. The joy of funds on tap, the freedom to buy whatever shiny, sparkly thing that caught my eye!
There's a reason I have a closet full of shoes and a fat arse and that's barclaycard! Well that and a complete lack of willpower! Ha.

So easy to go out for meals and treat yourself to cake whilst shopping but alas the dream ends once the bill arrives. I then got another card to take advantage of a 0% balance transfer deal but this just gave me more 'money' to play with until I spiralled out of control!

Ten years later and I'm finally sorting myself out in all areas. Physically, mentally and financially heck once I'm feeling more confident maybe romantically as well ;)

I've set aside a monthly amount that is paying off chunks of my debt and I'm happy to say I cleared my Argos card this month :D *happy dance*

Which brings me to my point. I'm currently losing pounds of fat and pounds of debt but what I'm gaining is the best thing ever and that's control.

I'm gaining control of my food addiction. I'm gaining control of my financial future and I'm gaining control of myself as a person.

I feel free and the more I lose, the freer I will be. A weight has been lifted in more ways than one and I'm not going to let that negative voice in my head stop me from my goals.

I want those who are dealing with similar issues to know, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Whether you smoke, drink or gamble. Whether you eat too much or too little. Once you make the decision to change, it can be done.

I'm not saying it's easy, I'm saying it's worth it!

Stay strong my friends!

Much Love,

Bex x
