How time flies!

Hi guys,

How are we all?

I've just took my fur babies out for a walk, so currently getting my breath back! But I'm getting faster and I've noticed improvement in my body. Yey *happy dance*

Anyway I was thinking how fast this month has gone! I published my first post on the 31st December 2014 and fast forward it's the same date in January! Crazy.

On my short blogger journey so far, I've enjoyed letting my writing flow. Voicing my opinions on the products I've used, to talking about my more personal moments (hint: the feeling blue post).

I'm going to add more lifestyle posts about my diet, exercise and I was thinking meals as well. It all adds to my journey and whilst I thoughly enjoy writing my beauty posts (many more to come!), I want to look back and remember how I was feeling on my weightloss adventure.

I will get to where I want to be, this blog is keeping me focused and will remind me that I don't want to be this fat and unhappy again!

Thank you to all my fellow bloggers who've supported me and gave some great advice :)

I'd also love to connect with those who check my blog out and thank them for taking the time to read my rambles, just to know that it's reaching people is such a buzz. I get warm fuzzies when I get a comment :D

Now I'm off for my first weigh in since I started! Fingers crossed!

Much Love,

W7 Review!

Hi guys,

I was lucky enough to receive some make up samples from W7 Cosmetics which is an affordable high street brand based in the UK.

I already own the naked 2 dupe palette by this brand which I love! So as you can imagine, I was excited to try more.

I would like to note that even though I've received these products for free, all opinions are my own and are honestly how I feel.

Anyway it's always nice to get pressies off the postman and I was excited to see what I had to play with :)

I got the gorgeous Golden Brown eyeshadow palette £5.95. I found these had purple tones mixed with the browns. You get a double sponge applicator included. I would have preferred a brush though.

You get a lovely cream highlight shade, a champagne shade, a taupe and finally a dark brown/purple.

All shades were shimmers and had flecks of glitter especially the darkest colour where you notice the purple more.

I was disappointed at not having any matte shadows. Whilst all were lovely colours, I prefer to blend with mattes and find shimmers can be too much.

I did give the shadows a go and was pleased with the colour payoff and how they blend.

You can see from the picture how the light catches the sparkle in the shadows. I'm not the greatest photographer, so please be gentle with me! Lol.

I did like this set of shadows. Great set of tones with both warms and cools. They can also be mixed up well to create different looks. Again I'd like a matte shadow included to break up the shimmer.

I wore a lid primer and the shadows lasted over 8 hours. I have hooded and oily lids and find shadows fade on me, especially in my crease. Now I did notice some oil, yet the shadow didn't melt away which impressed me.

The next product is the W7 lengthening mascara in black £4.95.
This mascara has a bristle brush, which if you read my mascara post (http://bubblybex3.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/lash-talk-about-eyes.html?m=1you'll know I'm not a fan.

This mascara was ok, not too wet which I prefer.
I find this type of brush doesn't grip my lashes and coat them fully, like a synthetic brush does but the formula was nice and it didn't flake or smudge during the day.
I tried to show a picture without liner so you can see how long my lashes look.

Overall nice mascara. Kind of reminds me of the bellapierre which is £19.99. So clearly this one is far better value.

Finally I got a lipstick from the Kiss Chase Collection £4.95. I got the shade Magnifique which is a gorgeous candy pink.
It's goes on slightly opaque with some shimmer and glides on great and is very creamy.
I did wear a similar coloured lip liner and I'd say the lipstick lasted well.
The colour does fade after a few hours (what lippie doesn't?) but it leaves a shimmery pink over the lips which looks nice and isn't patchy.

I do love the brand sign on the lipstick. Nice touch :)

Overall a great mix of products with sleek packaging.
The shadows have a nice soft feel, easy to use and blend.
The mascara is perfect for those who like bristle brushes and it does lengthen your lashes. It's just not the mascara for me.
The lipstick was lovely to use. Not drying and even after it faded, it still left a stain on all the lip, so you don't look odd with mismatch colour.

Honestly guys, I'd recommend the W7 brand. Great for those who don't want to spend a fortune on make up without losing quality and if you want to experiment with colours. Low price for fab formulas.

Give them a try, you won't be sorry! http://www.w7cosmetics.co.uk/

Have you tried any of the W7 products? What did you think? Share your favourites ladies :)

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award!

Hi guys,

I'm so chuffed to write this post and I'd like to thank Sophie from Petals of Perfection for nominating me! If you haven't read Sophie's blog (why the hell not?!) then go show her some love guys! Her blog if fabulous and can only get bigger and better. Watch this space :)
http://petalsofperfection.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1

So let's get this show on the road. First off, the rules:

1.You thank the blogger who nominated you and you link their blog. Its nice to share the love at all times.
2. You answer the list of 10 questions they have created for you and you then create a list of your own 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
3. You nominate 10 Sister Bloggers to receive the award and repeat all the steps involved.

Sophie's Questions

1. What do you think is your best feature? (Yes you do have one, you're all beautiful)

Wow, tough start. Lol. I'd say my smile and people do say it's a nice one :)

2. Name the song that describes you the best

Georgie Girl by The Seekers

Bit of a sad one but I've spent so long hiding behind my weight before I decided to make a change and be more positive and this song seemed fitting.

3. What's the best thing that someone has said to you?

I have an autistic brother and whilst out with him, an old couple said I was a nice carer. I explained he's my brother to which they said, even better it's for love, not money.

4. If you could make up a word what would it be and what's the definition?

This is probably already used but whenever my nieces or nephews tell me something they've achieved, I call them awesome-sauce because there're awesomeness is spread all over :D

5. Favourite quote?

6. What would you do if you got told that your life was all a dream?

I'd be gutted if my mum was no longer my mum. She's my best friend and I love her more than words can express.

7. Would you want to know what happens to you in 2015, like your own 2015 trailer?

Yes. Lol. Then I'd know if what I'm aiming for pays off ;)

8. Favourite place to go on holiday and why?

Paris. It was amazing, the beauty of the city and the glass pyramids were awesome but the best reason was Disneyland! I got my photo with Pluto!! :D

9. What is your best characteristic (i.e. kind, funny) ?

I'd like to think I'm funny in a daft way and I'd help out anyone who needed it.

10. If you could have one celebrity friend, who would that be and why?

Jennifer Lawrence. Not only does she star in some fab films but in interviews she comes across as hilarious in a goofy way :) it would be an memorable night out. Haha

Another big thanks to Sophie and the blogs I choose are:

My Questions:

1. What made you start blogging?
2. If you could be any animal what would you be and why?
3. Favourite film?
4. If you could go back in time, would you change anything?
5. Which one: night in or night out?
6. Who would you love to interview with no restrictions?
7. You can only use one make up product. Which one and why?
8. Who inspires you?
9. Would you give up chocolate if it was only allowed outside?
10. Any advice for someone wanting to blog?

Have fun ladies :)

Feeling Blue

Hi guys,

I wasn't too sure about posting this as it's quite personal but then I though why not??

The point of my starting this blog was to document my weight loss journey. The beauty, reviews and tag posts are a happy bonus.

I wanted this little piece of the Internet to be my accountability and focus. Yes I'm only a month in but you have to start somewhere right?

Anyway I digress. I wanted to talk about the mental side of this adventure. It's all well and good for Katie Hopkins to say eat less and move more and she's right the theory is there but the reality is that, it's hard work!

The voice in your head saying one bite of cake or piece of chocolate won't hurt. The deep need to 'reward' yourself with a food treat after completing your exercise goal, which is so counterproductive it's not even funny.

Then the justification of 'you deserve it' comes into play. Why do I need to behave like a trained dog getting a treat for good behaviour? I'm an adult who did a bit of exercise? Aren't I supposed to move? Do I really need a standing ovation for that?

Next comes the doubt 'why are you doing this anyway?' 'what's the point?' 'You're too big now, it's stupid to bother' On and on it goes, spinning round and round in a crazy bid to get you to self sabotage and gorge on the delicious nasties the FDA thinks passes for food.

I hit my mental wall today. I feel like crying and shouting at the same time. I'm hormonal which means I want to eat my weight in junk and let me tell you, that's a lot of junk!

I feel like I deserve to feel like shite. I gorged on the wrong foods for too long and now I'm paying the price of my greed but at the same time I hate feeling like a victim to my brains negative thoughts. Like a black cloud over my head.

Don't I deserve to feel good about myself? To wear clothes in a colour other than black? To finally rock my heel collection?

YES I DO! Sometimes you just need to look yourself in the mirror and say 'yes you're worth it!'

My journey is only at the starting line. I'm going to need all the positivity I can to get to goal and continue a healthier and most importantly, happier lifestyle.

To those on their own journey, I'm sending you a massive virtual hug! It's hard but then again being fat is hard too. You just need to choose your hard.

Thanks for reading.

The Netflix Tag

Hi guys,

By the big arse picture (and the title) I'm sure you can guess I'm doing the Netflix Tag! Big shoutout to @eliseroseblogs for the tag which was started by @alicespake. Go check out their blogs :) I'll pop links at the end.

Netflix is fab for finding new films and some brill new series with the added convenience of being mobile friendly so we can now watch stuff on the move! Yey :)
So let's crack on with the questions!

1. What are your favourite series' to watch on Netflix?

So many to mention but Warehouse 13, suits, white collar, Brooklyn nine nine (love love)

2. What are you currently watching on Netflix?

I've just started Breakout Kings which is pretty good. I tend to focus on finishing a series before moving on to another but I watch Brooklyn nine nine which is a funny sitcom and easy to watch whenever, like Big Bang theory :)

3. If you could have any series, old or new put on Netflix, what would it be?

I really wish Hart of Dixie was available on Netflix! The UK had the first 2 seasons on Really but couldn't get the rights to the third and I'm lost!! I loved that show. So easy to watch and it stars Rachel Bilson who has a very impressive shoe collection in it :D

4. What is your one pet peeve about Netflix?

I find the organisation a bit jumbled and I hate how the U.S. version get some better shows/films. Should just be all the same.

5. What are your essentials for a perfect night in with Netflix?

I make sure I'm all bathed and togged in my jim jams and fluffy socks with a nice hot chocolate and some munchies :) although my snacks are more chopped veggies than biscuits these days. Haha.

6. Recommend one series or film for someone else.

So many but definately check out Brooklyn nine nine and breakout kings and for films I'd say find the genre you want and go crazy. I love my chick flicks so Netflix is great to find films you've never heard of and some are pretty good :)

So that's my spin on the Netflix tag. Do you have any favourite shows or film? Let me know and I'll have a look :)

Check out the ladies below and show some love!

I nearly died!

Hi guys,

Random and slightly dramatic title as I didn't actually die but I will share my recent embarrassing moment!

As my blog name suggests, I'm on a weightloss journey and part of that is getting off my 'fat' arse and moving. I have 3 canine fur babies and I'm walking them 2-3 times a day depending on work load.

The other day the UK was hit by snow! I hate snow and there was loads! Ok that's an exaggeration but still there was a bit of snow ;) haha

Anyway this snow melted then froze causing black ice spots everywhere. I was out with my pooches and was in the last bit of my walk when it happened!

I slipped on the ice!!! Now if that humiliation wasn't enough, I hurt my ankle, braced all my 'sizeable' weight on one wrist (ouch) and hurt my nail :(

My dogs thought this was a game and processed to bounce all over me which didn't help in getting up!

The next part is where I wish I could transport myself far away! I was struggling to get up off the ice and did this weird crawl thing and ended up with my bum up in the air and then I heard 'do you need some help?'

Omg beam me up Scotty! I was mortified and even though part of me wanted to be sarky and say 'no I love doing the downwards dog in public' I timidly told them 'I'm fine'

I did eventually get up and hobbled the last few yards home but this will forever be remembered as 'the incident' haha

On a more positive note I walked further in the same amount of time!! Great none scale victory for me :D  *happy dance*

I do think I tired my dogs out though! :p

Thanks for reading guys and if you want to share any funny moments I'd love to have a giggle :)

Much Love,

Lash talk about eyes ;)

Hi guys,

How we all doing? :)

Ok so cheesy title aside, today's post is about the mascaras I've been using from drug store to the more high end.

I was minding my own business the other day, putting my face on and was stoked at how nice my mascara went on. You know when you just get the perfect lash day. No clumping, smudging or eye pokes (I'm impatient, sue me! Haha)

Anyway my perfect lash day made me think, why not do a post on my mascaras etc etc so here it is! :D

The four I'm talking about are from Urban Decay, Benefit, No7 and Collection Cosmetics.

Urban Decay Perversion £17

So I got this mascara as a Christmas gift from my sister in law (thank you!)
Advertised as a really intense blacker than black mascara with the added bonus of carrying an iconic brand name.
I admit that I was drawn in more because urban decay made this, than if it was extremely black.
First impressions weren't the amazing, omg I love this mascara, that I thought I'd have *sigh*
Yes it's very black which is what I do like about it but I found the product too watery for my tastes and its a bristle brush which isn't my favourite to use but that's personal preference.
I usually use this on top of another mascara with a better wand and consistency. This just adds a bolder colour.
In this case I think I was more taken in by the hype of this mascara rather than the actual product.
It actually reminds me of Dior blackout which alas I did like better.

Benefit they're real £19.50

I got this in a Christmas set that was reduced in the sale. I was buying the porefessional primer when the assistant recommended the box which had the primer, mascara, hoola bronzer and lip tint for less that £30! Sold! I love a bargain ;)
This mascara did have a synthetic brush although it's a little too fat in my opinion.
Nice mascara, separated and coated my lashes well but it didn't wow me. At nearly £20 I want fireworks and a hot guy serenading me. Ok maybe that's overkill (or a great fantasy :p) but you get my point.
Benefit has a large following of loyal customers and I do like and use other products they have but this is another example of brand name hype.
Yes it's a nice mascara but it's nothing special to me. Just another tube in my make up bag.

Collection Cosmetics £3.99

Which brings me nicely to this little beauty!
I got this mascara in the latest in beauty glamour box (incidentally this box is on sale at the moment and is fabulous!) and its not a brand I would normally gravitate towards.
More teenager than a woman nearly hitting 30! Ok in 2 years but it's getting close damn it!! ;'(
However I'm glad I've tried it. The one I have is the lengthening mascara. It has a synthetic wand which is a nice size (not too fat lol) and its a great consistency. It separates and actually lengthens my lashes beautifully.
From the first use I was hooked. On more dramatic days I'll add the perversion on top to darken but this mascara is my initial base to perfect my lashes.
Plus at this price, you can't go wrong :)

Boots No7 £11.50

Last is my No7 mascara advertised as giving exceptional definition. This is my all time favourite mascara! The only reason I'm not using it right now is because it's run out and I'm too lazy to get more yet. Ha.
Again it's a synthetic brush but this has a twist. One side has short bristles, they seperate the lashes and get rid of clumps and the other side has longer, curved bristles, that add volume and more colour.
This is a great mascara. Fab wand and lovely consistency. Bonus is the fact it's nutrient enriched which is good for your lashes.

I tried to give a closer look at each wand. Please don't judge my photography. I'm not much good at taking pictures! *hides head in shame*

Have you used any of these? Any thoughts or favourites? Let me know :)

Much Love,

Bex x

Back to Basics

Hi guys,

Hope you're all well :)

In this last week, I tried an eye cream and a new moisturiser to see if I find my new favourite.

Now I have very sensitive, doesn't know what it likes, skin. I even get hives from the water when I shower :/ *sigh*

But I wanted to experiment with other products and brands and maybe find some new stuff.

I got some of the eye cream from Benefit which is meant to reduce the dark circles and fine lines. I have the worst dark under eyes! I think because I wear glasses it stops any light hitting that area and thus means I look like a panda! Haha

However after my first use, the bottom of my eye 'bag' started itching. It then grew till my whole eye area was itchy and red with small raised hives :(

Now this is not a reflection on the product being 'bad' it's just my reaction to using it. This just shows how bloody sensitive my skin is!

Then, as if having a gammy eye wasn't enough. I tried a new moisturiser which was too heavy/oily for my skin type and has caused major breakout!

So here's me, red eyed with the pimply face of a pubescent teenager and I can't wear make up! My skin needs to breath and repair itself (woe is me :o)

I've decided to stick with my regular products. I use a Clean & Clear daily face scrub, a Simple toner from the kind to skin range and Nivea lotion (this is a good eye make up remover as well) I'll see how I get on, when I go back to my basic skin care regime/products.
Bonus of this is there're dirt cheap especially if you go to shops like bodycare :) think for these three products, it cost less than £6.

Do you have sensitive skin? Any favourite brands or products? Let me know :)

Much Love,

Bex x

My First Glossy Box!

Hi guys,

Exciting times at the house of Bex. Welcome to not only my first review of Glossy Box but my first ever Glossy Box! :D

Glossy Box (GB) is a monthly subscription service that delivers difference beauty products for you to try.

On arriving home from work on Monday, I found the beautiful black box advertising my glossy box waiting for me. Always nice to get parcels. Even when I know what it is, I'm like a child at Christmas! The sense of excitement, the tingles in your tummy and the anticipation of opening your 'present'! Yes even when I pay, they're all presents to me :)

So let's talk appearance. On opening my parcel I was met with my beautiful pink box with the black title and GB logo.

I was pleasantly surprised by the suble, girly yet classy feel of the box. Bonus I can find multiple uses for this, such as gift boxes etc. Does that make me cheap? ;p

On opening my box I was excited to see how beautifully wrapped it was with the lovely pale pink paper, the GB logo sticker and a black bow. Very cute :)

With bated breath I opened my parcel. Look how pretty it was with full size products, which is always good. Plus a coupon for £25 off Hello Fresh which is a food delivery service, not something I'd use, due the size of my household as it's quite pricey! :o

I was happy with my items and it gives me a chance to try new products and brands. I decided to wait before I rushed to review my box on sight alone. I wanted to try each item and share my opinion on them with you :)

1. Kueshi Revitalising Face Toner RRP €10.70 for 200ml
On first sight I liked this toner just for the pink colour alone, what can I say, I'm girly lol.
The smell is lovely, not surprising with it containing chamomile, aloe vera and calendula to help calm and rehydrate.
On using the toner I liked how it felt on my skin. Soaked in nicely with no residue. Also didn't leave my skin feeling tight. In fact my skin looked brighter after the first try.
So first impressions were good. Nice toner which does what it says. My skin felt hydrated and bright :)

2. Nicka K New York Colorluxe Blush RRP €8.95 for 5g
This is a loose powder blush in a gorgeous burnt pink shade called Romantic.
As blushes go this is nice. Blends well and it's a colour that will suit most skintones.
I'm not a fan of loose blushes and I wasn't wowed by this one but it does give you a lovely pink glow.
On a side note, use a slight hand as it's quite pigmented so on first try I looked more clown than healthy glow :/ haha

3. MeMeMe Eye Line Pencil RRP £4
This liner was in the shade clay which is a darkish brown.
Glides on great with no tugging on the skin and smudges well.
This is a very pigmented liner. I only needed one swipe under the eye to get the colour to show. I've got a few browns that need more swipes to get a decent colour payoff.
I like this liner, looks good and works well. For the price I'd definately recommend.

4. Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow RRP £10 for 15g
I'm only recently getting into highlights. Having chubby cheeks I always thought I'd look stupid but I've realised that every cheek deserves a lil shimmer ;)
This one is a gorgeous gold shade. It's a cream highlight and looks fabulous on.
Again a little goes a long way, then just blend blend blend :)
I liked this highlight, not sure I'd rush out to buy it but it was good to try.

5. Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm Superfruits RRP €5
Last but not least was this lip balm. Omg I'm in love!
As the name suggests it smells of fruit and is so yummy!
I get very dry lips, especially in winter so I'm a lip balm addict. I don't like the waxy type balms and my 'go to' balm is the carmex brand.
This one is lush! It moisturised my lips well and as it's not wax based it didn't leave a horrible layer on the lips.
It's colourless so leaves you with a nice sheen.
I would highly recommend this lip balm. I did try to look on the website but I couldn't get access from the UK :(
Hopefully this will change because I'm a fan of this balm :D

So overall I enjoyed my first Glossy Box. Some nice products to use and new brands to check out further. I think for the price you pay its worth it. If you're interested in subscribing to Glossy Box it's only £10 per month plus postage. Go on, check them out :) http://www.glossybox.co.uk/referal?CI=MTkwODc3

Thanks for reading and any questions then leave a comment :)

Perception

So today I wanted to talk about perception. Both how I think others perceive me and how I perceive myself.

When thinking about my weight and 'planning my diet' I realised I've spent 10 years hating how I look. I've yo yo'd up and down with my weight. Lose some then put it back on with a bit more on top till you get to now!

I need to lose 10 stone (don't tell Katie Hopkins)! Arghh!! That's a bloody person!! Why did I let myself spiral so out of control? Then you have to think how the small things catch up to you. The odd cake or chocolate bar is ok, sure you've gone up a pant size but that's fine. Then boom you've isolated yourself in this web of overindulgence and greed.

The downfall is that I feel crap as a 'fatty' but I was stuck in this cycle of eating-feeling crap-eating more-getting fatter- etc etc. I was not on good terms with exercise, the bitch hates me! Lol. I even drove my car to the local shop which is 5 minutes away! The worst thing? I paid someone to walk my dogs! The extent of my laziness was more than apparent in my size 24 pants!

Then, as you know, I decided to make a lifestyle change and thus my blog was born. To keep me accountable and document how my journey goes. I'm weighing in monthly as I don't want to be scale obsessed.

Now back to my point. I was playing with my nieces the other day (2&1) and we went to a local kids play centre. I was sooo embarrassed puffing and panting after the girls and kept thinking everyone was judging me.

Then my 2 year old niece came running up to me and threw herself into my arms, and hugged me, fat belly and all. From her baby gibberish I got 'auntie Becki, kiss' and it hit me. This tiny little girl loves me regardless of what I look, feel or smell like. No judgement or condemnation, just love and affection. All she wanted from me was a kiss.

I realised I was the one judging myself, presuming that others were condemning me as worthless due to my size when really, no one cares. I get that some people don't like fat (Katie Hopkins again lol) but some don't like red hair or tattoos either. That doesn't mean you should feel bad about it. It's personal preference.

I looked at my nieces and decided I don't want them knowing I hate my body or I'm too embarrassed to go out. I want them to see a strong, confident woman who inspires them to be the same.

I want to get to a healthy place and look after my body and with time my perception of myself and how I think others view me, will change with me. I don't want to hide anymore. I'm changing my lifestyle one vegetable and workout at a time until I'm where I need to be :)

As Dove always say 'love the skin you're in' embrace your differences and make better choices that help your body and mind.

Much Love,

Bex x

January Birchbox Review

So today I received my January Birchbox. Excited much! So I thought, why not review it and give my opinion :)

For those of you not familiar with Birchbox, it's a monthly subscription service that sends beauty samples and some full size products straight to your door. You fill out a beauty profile, which helps tailor the products to your needs.

This months theme is 'hit refresh' and is new year appropriate with all the resolutions and health kicks starting.

Birchbox have partnered with Women's Health magazine to send goodies geared towards health and well being.

The products are sent in a cool drawstring bag with the brand logo on the front. These are great to re use for travel bags etc. I also use the box to store my make up in :)

The products in this months box include hair products from a shampoo by Philip Kingsley to Agave oil treatment. Looking forwards to trying both samples, especially if they help with what I like to call my 'exercise hair' basically it gets sweaty when I exercise. Lol.

You also get a cooling moisturiser from activbod which is a great idea especially if you're working out, which as they sent a Pilates band, means no excuses for missing a workout ;)

Healgel have provided a sample of their face lotion which for the full size bottle is £48! I have tried it and whilst my skin does feel soft, it's not the greatest scent. Not bad, more like a clean, soap smell whereas I prefer fruity scents.

My favourite products from this box was the green tea sachet (I like green tea and it does have health benefits such as aiding your metabolism) and last but not least the stila lip glaze. This lip glaze is in the shade glitter which is a sparkly pink (looks more shimmer than pink on the lips). It has got the heavy, sticky lip gloss feel to it but its not irritating and it smells like sweets! I want to eat my own lips! Lol.

Overall this was a nice mix of products. I'd prefer more make up but the items provided tied in with the theme really well. I really like how they included a mini challenge booklet, that inspires you to make better choices :)

This subscription box is a great way to try new products and brands. Take last months box. I got a sample of Vasanti brighten up face scrub which is amazing and I've since purchased the full size as a result. You never know what you might try and fall in love with.

If you're interested in subscribing to Birchbox, its only £10 per month plus postage, so go check them out :) save £5 in January using code JAN5.

Much Love,

Bex

Tools to stay focused!

Hi guys,

Today I thought I'd share a few things I do or have that are helping me stay focused.
I know it's been less than a week since I started but I feel these are good for keeping accountable :)

The first thing is a calendar with square dates (not the line ones)

As you can see on each day I've wrote how on point I've been. I saw this on a you tube channel I follow (truelyjess) and it's really helpful.
I state if my water intake was reached (H20) the smiley face is my food and the swirl and the star are exercise. I only jot down what was reached/completed.

The next thing I have is this:

Yes Art from monsters university is guarding my weight loss jars. Lol
So I think I saw these on Pinterest. Basically get 2 jars and decorate however you please. Mine say 'pounds to go' and 'pounds lost' then fill with glass pebbles or any small item you want to use as your 'lb'
Each pebble will represent 1lb so as I drop weight, I can move the pebbles over.
This is a great visual as I continue to shed the fat :) nothing like seeing the 'to go' side shrinking, as the 'lost' side grows! :D

I also have a notebook. Kinda like a diet diary that has my before pictures (yikes) and my reasons for wanting to change my lifestyle. I include quotes that inspire me and pictures of clothes and shoes I'd like to wear.
I recently added an incentive to my notebook. Now on previous weight loss attemps I would 'reward' myself with a bar of chocolate after each weigh day (why??  I ask myself) but I wanted to get away from the food aspect.
So I've wrote down products I'd like that are more pricey than general high street stuff. For each stone I lose, I can purchase something from my list. Things like make up from Mac, Nars or illamasqua to new clothes or shoes as I get smaller!
I want to change the way I view food (it's for fuel, not entertainment) and embrace this lifestyle change. Now I know it's early days and I'm not expecting to be perfect but I'm in for the long haul peeps and I will get there! No matter how long or how many bumps a long the way. These are just a few things to help me along :) I hope you enjoyed reading this and it gives you some ideas.

Much Love,

Bex

Latest In Beauty Party Prep Box Review!

Hi guys,

I'm so excited to write my first beauty review :) and I decided to share my thoughts on the Latest In Beauty (LIB) Party Prep Box.

LIB offer select boxes benefiting different needs such as the pamper box to the glamour beauty box (which was actually my first purchase from LIB and was worth every penny) and even build your own boxes.

So I bought the Party Prep Box at £24.95 with free delivery, as I was intrigued by some of the products included such as full size mascara, eye liner and nail polish from brands I'd never used or even heard of before.

When my box arrived, I was impressed with the appearance with its leather effect look and contrasting pink bow. It looked very elegant and high end.

On opening my box I was excited by the packaging. It was like Christmas all over :)

Then I saw what was inside and let me tell you it was worth the cost. To name a few items: a Daniel Sandler eyeliner rrp £10 (gorgeous blue shade), a l'oreal infallible 24hr lip gloss rrp £10 (bright fushia shade) to the dr organics mud mask rrp £8.

I've since tried a few of the products and have found new brands to try again.
The bellapierre mascara in black rrp £19.99 is a great product. It's a bristle brush which I don't normally like but this brush separated my lashes perfectly and the product glided on smoothly and wasn't clumpy. Lasted all day (over 8hrs) with no flaking or smearing and was easy to remove.
The Marsk mineral eyeshadow in rich list rrp £14.49 was lovely to use. Loose powder in a shimmery gold shade. Very pigmented and actually lasted the day.

I even tried the dry shampoo sample by Paul Mitchell. Now I'm a batiste dry shampoo girl but let me tell you this one smelt amazing! Like a party for your hair, they could sell this as hair perfume it was that nice! Lol.

I'm not going to review every product in the box as this post would go on forever. Lol. What I will say is overall this box doesn't disappoint! I've tried new brands and new products. I even checked the cost of each item and taking into account sample sizes, this box is worth £90 yet I paid less than £25! You can't complain about that!

Any questions just let me know below :) I hope you enjoyed my first review.

Much Love,

Bex

My Epiphany :)

Hi guys,

I wanted to talk about the reasons I want to lose weight and get healthy. It's a good idea to write these down and your goals for the journey. That way at low points (like with everything, you get good days and bad days) you can read them and reflect.
I think most people want to lose weight so they can look and feel better. I'm no different. I want to be confident in what I wear plus how I look and I want my health!
As I've gained weight I've noticed certain things effecting my health such as my feet hurting (hard work carrying an extra load) my hip clicking (very recent and also another push I needed to make a change) and generally feeling tired and crap!
I've spent so long hiding behind my fat that I've never really lived (how cheesy do I sound!) but it's true. Until recently I hid behind tracky bottoms and baggy tops, wore no make up and generally tried to be invisible. Hard to do when you're overweight.
Then I went shopping a few months ago (not a new thing lol) and my mum was at the bare minerals counter in Debenhams and next to them was Urban Decay.
I fell in love with the edgy vibe and the amazing palettes with seriously cool eyeshadow shades!
That was when I had an epiphany. I wanted to make more of an effort, with my weight, my health and with doing my make up and wearing better outfits. Yes I'm fat but do I really need to look like a bag lady? No I don't.
So I bought a few outfits from New Look (they have the inspire range for larger ladies) still loose fitting as I want to feel comfortable but now when I go out I don't feel so scruffy. Lol.
So here I am. I've got a long way to go. Lots to lose in weight but more to gain in confidence, self worth and most of all my health!

Let's do this!

Ps: My lovely brother and his girlfriend got me the Urban Decay Shadowbox and Perversion mascara for Christmas! I love them!!

Happy New Year!!

Happy 2015 peeps :)

I'm currently chilling with one of my dogs (I have 3) Now I'm not hungover as I stayed in and celebrated with family last night but I was still up way into the morning (you tube is my weakness right now. Lol)

So today is my planning day, how random am I? Lol. Any who I'm going to enjoy the new year festivities with my family and eat the last of my chocolate (seriously I'm down to a wispa and 2 ferrero rocher!) then on Friday it's game on!

Omg starting on a Friday! Haha. But I'm ready. I'm going to make small changes each week. That way I'm creating new habits and not totally overwhelming myself.

So first I'm going to try and drink more water as I'm sadly lacking in this department. Not only does good old h20 help your body function but it also helps your skin and as tesco says 'every little helps' lol

Here's to a healthier 2015!
